The West of Scotland Coronary Prevention Study: 20 Years and Still Going Initiated in 1988, this was the first major statin study in
patients without a history of myocardial infarction. Dr. Ian Ford describes results and lessons learned from this trial - both clinical and methodological - and
the potential for conducting clinical trials based almost entirely on computerized record linkage to routinely collected electronic health records.
