Dr. Ana Abraido-Lanza Steps Down as Co-Director of Community Engagement Core Resource

The Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research announces the departure of Ana Abraído-Lanza, PhD, who co-directed the Community Engagement Core Resource (CECR) until August 2018. In addition to her role at the Irving Institute, Dr. Abraido-Lanza was Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Lanza brought to CECR, the Irving Institute, and Columbia University, a fresh insight on sociomedical factors leading to health disparities in Latino and national and international communities. She was dedicated to the development of students in public health including directing the Mailman School’s Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD). Dr. Abraido-Lanza joins New York University’s College of Global Public Health as Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Senior Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs.
