Welcoming Dr. Kellie Bryant, as the new Associate Director of Irving Institute’s Community Engagement Core Resource

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kellie Bryant, DNP, WHNP, CHSE, FAAN to our Community Engagement Core Resource (CECR) as Associate Director. Dr. Bryant is an Associate Professor of Nursing, and Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and Simulation, at Columbia University’s School of Nursing (CUSON).  Since arriving to Columbia in 2016, after more than two decades of front-line clinical care as a Womens Health Nurse Practitioner and teaching the next generation of nursing students, Dr. Bryant has been committed to engaging and educating the communities we serve. She has conducted community-based research programs working with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene  and community organizations in overdose prevention training, drug-related wound care, vaccine hesitancy, women’s health, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at CUIMC and creating health profession pathway programs to help diversify the healthcare workforce.   

Dr. Bryant joins the leadership of the Irving Institute’s CECR program including Co-Directors Drs. Rafael Lantigua, Rachel Shelton, Olajide Williams, Associate Director Dr. Elizabeth Cohn, and Assistant Director Dr. Alejandra Aguirre. She will be a key liaison between CECR and CUSON, further supporting new opportunities for collaboration and integration with our Upper Manhattan communities. Additionally, she will engage with research programs across campus focused on translational science in substance use disorders and community-engaged care.
