Dr. David Lederer Named Director of the Master of Science in Patient-Oriented Research Program

The Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research announces the appointment of David Lederer, MD, MS, as Director of the Master of Science in Patient-Oriented Research (MS-POR) program, effective August 1, 2018. Dr. Lederer is Associate Professor in Epidemiology and Medicine (in Pediatrics) and is a pulmonologist specializing in the care of patients with pulmonary fibrosis and those who have undergone lung transplantation. Dr. Lederer is a leader of Columbia’s Pulmonary & Intensive Care Translational Outcomes Research (PICTOR) Group, which focuses on discovery, clinical research, and training for researchers working in pulmonary care and lung transplantation. Dr. Lederer’s many years in mentoring early career investigators at Columbia University and nationally provides the perfect foundation for a successful leadership role of the MS-POR program.
