Rachel Shelton, ScD, MPH

Rachel Shelton, Associate Professor of Sociomedical Sciences (SMS), has agreed to serve as the new SMS Deputy Chair for Faculty Development and Research Strategy.  She will serve in this key leadership role with a focus on research program development among our junior faculty.  Dr. Shelton is widely known for her collaborative leadership and mentorship in implementation science across CUIMC, among Clinical and Translational Science (CTSA) networks on a national landscape, and internationally through implementation science training programs. She has been highly successful with building her own research portfolio through NIH and foundation funding, and has experience supporting junior faculty to develop their programs of research and scholarship.  Due to her wide range of current commitments, her role as deputy chair for research will initially focus on mentoring junior faculty and we hope to soon extend her leadership in research strategy overall.
