Irving Institute Announces 2018 Community-Based Participatory Research Awardees

The Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, home to Columbia University’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program hub, announces the winners of the 2018 Community-Based Participatory Research awards.

The Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Scholars and Awards Program is a key capacity-building opportunity to stimulate community-engaged research between Columbia University faculty and community/faith-based organizations. The awardees are:

Integrating Primary Care into Community Mental Health Settings

  • Jean-Marie Alves-Bradford, MD, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry (Co-Principal Investigator)
  • Martina Puchta, FNP-C, Washington Heights Community Service (Co-Principal Investigator)

Factors Linked to Kindergarten Transition Involvement/Engagement Among High-Risk Families of Children

  • Jahromi Laudan, PhD, Professor of Psychology & Education, Teacher's College (Co-Principal Investigator)
  • Stephanie Rodriguez, MS, Association to Benefit Children (Co-Principal Investigator) 

Reducing Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Consumption During the First 1,000 Days

  • Jennifer Woo-Baidal, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Co-Principal Investigator)
